    Mr C

Some posts ago, I allready mentioned the other ride of Mc Stairs which happens to be a nice rewarded Late Looker on Original 914 2L Porsche Rims.
At the time of this shot, his ride was still equipped with a strong running 1914 engine which hauled ass. But for some strange reason, the engine was taken out of this stunning ride...
Oh did I mention that Mr C built this ride all by himself, this earns some respect...
    RESPECT to C

    Trash Pt 3

And this is what happens when you put your pedal to the metal too hard to get as soon as possible to the end of the 1/4 mile. You just break everything down...
Maybe I have a tip for Mc Stairs: next time you put your pedal top the metal, don't wear those leadslet boots but wear a propper set of racing shoes. They are readely available at the stores and aren't that expensive...
    Greetz to Mr C

    Trash Pt 2

Most drag-VW's are known for their high front wheel lifts, but have you ever known a gasser that does the same thing with its rearwheels.
A little change from the norm is sometimes needed. So that is what Mr Stairs, being a bad boy as he is, did.
Have you seen more of those rearwheels-lifts, just let me know.
A really cool picture in my opinion.

    Trash Pt 1

There's quite a stir about this nice gasser featuring a DVF-decal as it's featured on a few blogs. Could it be the DVF-decal that pushes this ride on the rear wheels down the 1/4 mile or is it the Steve-build 180hp 1776cc engine combo that does it? I not shure.
One things I know for shure: driver Mr C aka Mc Stairs is a friend of us and is regulary seen on our events but not is this not-so-street-legal-ride but in his late-looker which is a fine ride of its own featuring a little under-powered-1200-OG-unit.

    The Freddy Files Pt 12

Another great looker is this one owned by Pat of Pat's VW shop. This ride is been around the scene for quite some time and still runs strong with it's 1776 engine pumped in. A simple but so effective ride...
More nice bugs as featured in Ninove to come...

    The Freddy Files Pt 11

But it wasn't all about Type 3's at the Freddy Files, some very nice bugs turned up also. Including this a so good looking Looker on Erco's. As a type 3 head, I also have a very weak spot for those o so sexy Callookers with big engine combo's, this one shurely does it for me, perfect in every way...
Do you also get a hard-on from those horny zero-offset Erco's? I must admid I do...

This shot some a close up of Big Tall Eddy Von Der S' ultimate of typt 3 line: a 64 1500S Type 34. Eddy went home with a type 10 award, not bad for a first outing...
Thanks to Ffred for the missing S an the NOS exhaust. Big Tall Eddy Von Der S was over the moon when he got his missing S and the DVF-decal...

    The Freddy Files Pt 7

This Seasand 1500S is still my favorite Belgium based Type 3. It's been on the circuit for quite a while but it still rocks, fully loaded with desirable goodies, nice color, great wheels and a cool (little too low) ride height.
Hope to see my 1500S in the same condition some time in the future...

    The Freddy Files Pt 6

These cool Dutch Notches made it all the way to Ninove. Both perfect in every way, one of these two recieved the price for best Type 3, an award chosen by Paul of T3D. Must have been a hard decision with all these high quality rides...

    The Freddy Files Pt 5

This shot shows some nice early Type 3's. The grey BRM'z suited the blue one just fine and Mr. K green 63 featured some Sprintstars out of his private stash of wheeldeals.
Only one thing needs to be done to Mr K ride and that is drop it for that ultimate stance...

    The Freddy Files Pt 4

As The Freddy Files was a Type 3-special, some very nice Third Kind VW's turned up which gave some nice line-ups.

    The Freddy Files Pt 3

Anyone who's ever been to a season-opener knows that the quality of the rides is very high with a lot of new cars in the scene turning up. This also goes for this nice Heb who was featured in Volksworld. The article read that this ride was up for grabs but I didn't knew that this ride was sold to Belgium. Talking about a nice surprise.
Could this be the ultimate VW? To bad it lost the narrowed frontbeam and Sprintstars...

    The Freddy Files Pt 2

The VW-heads that made it to the Freddy Files shurely recognise this view: the official Die Volksfreunde-display and the man who lents his name to the meet came by, liked what he saw and joined in for 'The Bugtour'.
This display was the reason why Dr Jeckill and I made the early cruise to Ninove where we met Jelle who joined us and we all froze our ass off on the cold long day outside.

    The Freddy Files Pt1

Yestersday, it was opener of the new meeting seasing in Ninove 'The Freedy Files'. So Dr. Jeckill Made an early cruise to get a nice place for the Die Volsfreunde-Club-display to promote our yearly event 'The Bugtour'.
As you can see, this early cruise didn't passed unnoticed by other DVF-member Dave...
    Nice shot, thanks Dave...

Could this be the view in Ninove tomorrow with The Freddy Files Type 3 Special? I shure do hope to see a lot of the ultimate luxery VW Models out there.
For those of you interested in DVF's third Bugtour, get your asses to the DVF-display and join in on our event by paying 20 euro/person and enjoy the trip and food on the 7th of May.
So see you all there tomorrow...

    X-Town Traffic Pt 2

After lastyears try-out of the X-Town Traffic, we held the first official one yesterday evening.
It could be called a small little succes with over 30 cars showing up for a cruise thru our beloved playground called Ghent.
The men in blue uniforms spoiled the fun so we had to skip the last part of the trip but it was very nice after all.
For more pictures, check out the X-Town Traffic Site here.

    Fast Brazilia

How does this fine example of the Brazilia look? Very cool and very fast I think.
Slammed on Centrelines, lightened and with a little stomper in the back, good for some nice readings on the quarter mile...
Haven't seen them like that on my trip to El pais de la ultima edicion.

    Modelo Latino Pt 2

Rear end of the same ride.
If you look closely (and I do mean very close, yes even closer) you can see that this Brazilia was first registered in 1976 (which happen to be the year I was first registered in too) and is still in the hands of the first owner.
Maybe after all, it wouldn't be that bad to get the car to Belgium, drop it on a set of Sprintstars and a little more powerfull engine combo...
Maybe, we'll see, time will tell...

    Modelo Latino Pt 1

Anyone out there familiar with this model as produced by VW? Well I'm a little, it's the VW Brazilia as produced by VW for the Mexican market. One thing's for shure this model won't be on display at our yearly Bugtour.
Actually this ride was offered to me at a very reasonable price. This example was a little bit shitty but would make a nice Hoodride.
These brazilia left the factory with VW most powerfull (???) 1200 engine, not quite good to set some fast time at the track in my opinion.

    VW Spotting Pt 4

But as I'm still an avid fan of VW's Type 3-range, the main reason for the visit to Big Tall Eddy von Der S' garage was this very nice and complete Type 34.
I've allready heard a lot about this car, but never had the chance to check it out for myself and it is indeed a very nice example. The best part about this one is that it is an early 64 1500S model, complete in every way sporting the original red coco-mats.
The only parts that has been lost in this ride's life is the S-sign. So if anyone has such an S lying around somewhere, just let me know and Big Tall Eddy von Der S will pay the right price to get his ride complete again.

    VW Spotting Pt 3

Another great ride stored away in Big Tall Eddy von Der S' garage is this very nice 356B.
Some of you might recognise this fine ride and will be able to name the owner. Just proof that this 356 still is safely store away...

    VW Spotting Pt 2

Believe me when I say that Big Tall Eddy von Der S' Fat Chick is in perfect condition. Just check out the spot-on interior of his Deluce Microbus. Everything is there, full lengt sliding sunroof, jailbars, original VW-seatcovers and it's all in as-new-condition.
    A trully rare-found...

    VW Spotting Pt 1

Today it was a pretty calm day. A little wrenching, a little cleaning and in the afternoon it was time for some VW-spotting. So we contacted Big Tall Eddy von Der S and visted him to throw an eye on his car collection.
One of my favorite is this early Fat Chick as they used to call these T2b's. This bus is in a rather excellent original condition. It has only run 18000km and still sports origial VW-seatcovers all around. As all type 2 lovers will have noticed it's a Deluxe Microbus featuring a full lenght sliding sunroof. Talk about the top of the range of the Type 2-range...

    One Lucky Owner

The guy with the funny face is David, the lucky owner of this VW Sports Coupe.
David is very proud owner of his first aircooled VW and deserves all the respect as he did most of the work on his VW himself (except for some small things for which he got help from Guillermo and Dave).
Big ups for David and just post a comment if you like this ride too...

    VW Sports Coupe

Some might recognise this nice ride, others won't, but this is actually the finished article.
Some time ago I allready posted this ride but with the the original wheels. We asked your opinion for a change in wheel combo and as David is a good listener he did what you (and the other DVF'ers) said: fit the ride with a nice set of Sprintstars.
So David started locating a good set and fitted the right combination of tires and this is how this awesome Karmaan looks like today. A very nice ride indeed...
Only thing to be done is get the front-end a little closer to the ground to achive the perfect stance.
If you want to take a closer look at this ride, make shure you make it Ninove and admire it at its first outing...

    Classic Black 'n White

Just another classic combo. Black always contrast very nicely against white, but we are not that fortunate to have one black and one white type three, so we just do it with two aircooled VW's.
You all should know by now who these rides belong to.
