A Quest For Real VW Power?
 If you're looking for the VW with ultimate power which can be driver hard as nails as showed in the posts below, this close up shows you the car you should be looking for: the 64-65 type 3 1500S.
These beauties left the VW factory with the most powerfull VW-engine of that era featuring a massive 1493cc, a compressionratio of 8.5:1 due to high compressions pistons and 2 single draft carbs. This combo produced 54hp @ 4200 rmp and pushes the 910kg heavy Notch to a maximum cruising speed of 135 km/h and a top speeds of 155kmh (tested and aproved by myself) in forth gear. To give you a better idea about this massive power display, the 1500S took you from 0 to 100 kmh in just 21 seconds.
So I'm not kidding if I'm telling when you if you're looking for massive horsepower you should look out for these nice 1500s'es.
