    Foggies

New update on my Type III.
For those who haven't noticed it yet, my ride now sports a set of very sexy yellow foggies. I have to admid that they would suite the car better if I could mount some yellow lights too, so if someone has a set lying around somewhere, just let me know.

    Fat Chick

Anyone recognizes this fat chick (not the one in the back) on Erco?
This Auto Techniks early bay has been seen on the strip pulling wild rear wheel stands. How cool is that in such a heavy type II. Very cool I think and I'm still crazy about those wild ERCO spun ally wheels...

    Low Square

    Very nice Danish early square.
This Type III looks awesome dropped to the max. You might have allready noticed that this ride has to be bagged to sit so low.
Too bad all these ultra low Type III had to ditch the original frontbeam in favor of the Type I beam with lend themselves much better for a narrowing job and airbags...
By the way: I also love the extra spotlight. They always look good on any Type III...

    Svenska Bubbla

This nice 59 Bubbla is Dr. Jeckill's newest ride. The Bubbla is very solid and has a restored chassis with new rubbers all around. the bodyshell is in good condition too but has been repainted in red.
See this ride dropped at the Bugtour on the 7th of may for those of you who seemed to have forgotten the date.

    UK Goes Blogging

The boys in the UK seem to have discovered the skynet blogs and immediatly started posting. I've added some in the links.
Some old blog-links are removed as they doesn't seem to get updated anymore and blogs are the most fun to follow when they get new posts from time to time.
Soory for the removed ones, happy posting and a lot of visitors for the new ones.

    Wimpy Rules

Looks like I'm pretty famous all over the world.
For all your burgers, go to Wimpy's...
Saw this hamburgerjoint on the way to Volksworldshow, sadly we forgot to take a picture from the place with Wimpy himself in front of it. Too bad. Could be god for some nice shots...

    Okay...

... mine isn't dechromed, lacks the power but has the right stance (I guess) an runs on a set of repro (bad quality) BRM's. But it still does the trick in my opinion.
So you might be wondering why those bad qualtiy repro BRM's? Well, as a matter of fact, I'm on a (thight) budget and try to do it all on a cheap as possible, but who can blame me, I'm still rolling and enjoying it...

    Back in the days...

... when horsepower was king, they used all kinds of VW's to kick the Flat Heads and Blue Flamers their but.
It really love the look of this dechromed, BRM'ed Notch as owned by Dyno Don in the early 70'ies back in OC.
If anyone has more pictures of this awesome ride, just let me know...

    Triple 6

No,I'm not publishing this picture (soory for the copyright) for the guy standing next to this nice period looking gasser which listen to the name Triple 6, but purely for the name of the ride.
The name comes out handy and dsiplays the date for our next X-Town Traffic which will take place on 06/06/06, you see, told ya, triple six. Hope the beast doesn't strike that day.
So all of you who wants to join in, you're warned in advance, so no excuses 'caus this time it ain't a the last minute invitation...

    From The Old Box..3

    Can anyone date this shot?
This picture of a late looker in the early DAS-period was taken by El Baron at Spa several years ago, but he can't remember when it was taken as he's getting a little old and seem to suffer from loss of memory.
So maybe you could just help out and this this one...

    From The Old Box...2

Another one from the old box. This time shurely VW-related.
This picture can be dated back to 1998 when I cruised to France in my Mixican Bug. Note the racked stance and the fat exhaust. My bug sported a tickled 1600 unit with lightened flywheel, twin Dell-Orto carbs and a 4 in 1 S&S header with hide-away muffler. This same engine combo is still running strong in El Baron's aka Messi's 67.
Looks like I was pretty pleased to get at my destination in my daily driven bug.

    VW-related or not?
Anyone recognizes this lepard-man? Let me know if you do...

    DFL Cruise Madness

Are there a lot of VW-heads out there who like to cruise in their Old V-Dubs? Well I could certainly counted in into that group, so why not cruise 500km to join in on a cruise?
Just to say that me, my Sexy Mexican Maid and Jelle are cruising to Hannover at the end of the month to check out DFL's Cruise Madness. Looking at this picture, it looks like this cruise-night is a real blast.
The weekend of the 1st of May is a classic VW-meeting weekend in Hannover as the day after DFL Cruise Madness, the Maikafertreffen takes place on the parkinglot of the Hannover Messe.
Any more Belgian VW-heads cruising the these shows too? Just let us know, we could as well cruise together to Hannover...

    Volksworld Show Pt 6

The Brititsh VW-scene has announced a new drag race competition called Outlow Flat Four featuring some of the fastest VW's of England including Richie Webbs Cab, Peter Englezos Fiat, Paul Bate's orange Looker, Bernard Newbury's gasser and the Triple 6 racer to name some of them. Some of these fasties were also on display last weekend...

    Volksworld Show Pt 5

Another reason why we went all the way to London was to pick up Jelle new ordered Torker wheels at the JGE-stand.
So that was what we did and as by faith, a nice looker sporting those weird Torker wheels was just standing outside so we could made out for ourselves that those classic Callook reproduction wheels really do suit the early bug fine. I have to admid that you just love them or hate them but I'm not shure which one of these two happens to be my opion. Guess I'm starting to like them.
Those wheels now repro'd by JGE are exact copies of the original seventies American Racing Mags as featured on some ride in the early California Look days (if you're not convinced just check out Keith Seume bibble).

    Volksworld Show Pt 4

Another new ride featured at the Show is Joe Callaghers new toy. Its a VW-type 4 Powered Fiat Spider in true gasser style with metalflake piant and cool signwriting.

    Volksworld Show Pt 3

As a tradition, the Volksworld show always present some fine new rides. This year it wasn't an exception and one of the new rides was this period inspired gasser lurking back to the days when Deano Dyno Soars was king. Tis gasser was fully detailled...

    Volksworld Show Pt 2

This ex-Bernie car is now in the hands of one of the Funkenblitz members. I just love the overall look of this Oval with the stomper in the back and thos cool Erco (I still have a very weak spot for thsoe nice wheels). Shouldn't be saying this but this ride has a super stylish interior with some nice tricks like the one-off gauges-pot .

    Volksworld Show Pt 1

Last weekend, it was the Volksworld Show 2006 at Sanddownpark near London, so Jelle, Sam and Guillermo made an early trip on sunday which kead us to the show.
As we expected some very nice rides were on display at the show including this nice line-up of Englands leading Callook Club called Funkenblitz. The club has some very fine Looker in it with all members yearning for horsepower in their fast rides...
