Messies New Powerplant
And after holidays, there's still the work. So I continued the assembly of the new powerplant for Messies 67 Looker. The first thought was to assemble a new engine for Messies single cab because he blew up the engine some time ago and used Ollies bus engine. But plans changed last week as it seems that the current engine in Messies ride seems to suffer from some fatigue after several years of abuse in my Mexican bug before I sold it to Messie who's abusing the little powerplant for almost 6 years now. As the engine was planned for the bus, we kept it quite convintional with a stock cr but with the addition of an Engle 110 camshaft, a 3-angle head job by Steve and bolt-on rockershafts. Of course all the bearing were renewed and the camfollowers as well. The engine will breath thru the Dell Orto's and wasted the burned gasses thru a BAS-exhaust. The necessarily sparks will be provided by a Bosch 009 distributor with Compu-Fire and a Bosch Blue Coil .The lightened flywheel which is on the current powerplant will find his way on the new powerplant as well. And while all the tinware was off, I gave it all a new coat of satin black. I must admit that I'm curious about the output of the engine but we'll see that soon enough.
