El Picaro Update
Since some time, I've been toying with the idea to ditch the original plan to fit 4-lug Sprintstars on my late Looker based on my Mexican build Bug. Sprinstars are a very nice wheel by any means but I thought that El Picaro would be happieren with something more exotic. So I started looking around and I let my eye drop on a set of Pedrini wheels lying around at Steve's VW Shop. Sadly, the set wasn't up for grabs. Last weekend, luck stroke upon me as at Le Bug Show at least 4 sets were for sale at the swapmeet. So, I took the necessary cash at loaded my Notch with a very good set of these nice wheels. The Pedrini Wheels were produced to be fitted on 914/4 Porches during 1970-1972. This evening, while listening to some nice tunes of Joy Denalane and the evening sun in my face, I started sanding one of my set to get an idea how the y would look with some detailling. It will be a lenghty task but it will be worth the effort once they are finished. When the ribs on the 4 are polished and shinning, I'll plan to paint the centersections black to give a nice contrast to the polished and shinning ribs. Can't wait to see these beauties finished...
